5 Secrets to Reset to Get Back on Track

Tell me if you can relate.

This past Sunday morning, I woke up feeling ungrounded and uncentered. I had spent a few days in bed under the weather; there were 250 unanswered emails in my inbox, and the to-do list was becoming unwieldy.

After sulking for a few minutes under the warm blankets on this cool autumn day, I remembered something that made me feel better. I needed a radiance reset.

You can hit the reset button and start anew at any time. And what does “radiance” have to do with a reset? In the past, I would have lept out of bed, tackled my to-dos, and powered through without a break to get back on track.

But now that I’m kinder to myself, I understand that everything is energy. If I take time to get into my “radiance”, the experience of doing becomes more inspired, joyful, and abundant—keeping burnout, fatigue, and resistance at bay.

CLOSING RITUALS

Resets are like taking vitamins: you can forget to take them one day, but if you forget for a long period, you start to feel off-kilter.

In my book, Radical Radiance, I teach you how to treat your skin as a lesson for how to treat your soul—both need nourishment and love. We need to listen to our skin to maintain balance and treat it when it’s acting up. Keeping the skin clean and purified while using a gentle exfoliator will help reduce dead skin build-up that can be contributing to a dull complexion or clogged pores.

RESET TOOLS

Just like our skin needs to reset and refresh, so do our souls. One tool I use religiously is the Savor Beauty Planner, which has been called “much more than a planner… it’s a lifestyle mentor.” I like to think of it as accessing my “Higher Self”, another powerful concept I delve into in the book.

I designed the planner to help me—and now over 100,000 radiant souls around the world—live a self-love lifestyle and reset radiance over and over again.

The difference between feeling dull versus joyful is hitting that reset button as often as you need to vibrate your highest self.

Here are 5 ways I reset using my planner. If you have another planner that works for you, that's great, too! The point is to find a reset ritual that is consistent and helpful for you.

Secret #1: 90-Day Vision

VISION RESET

Lucky for me, this past Sunday was the beginning of “my new 90 days", which coincides with the end of the year beautifully. Creating 90-day goals is like a fresh start four times a year! I love to give myself the gift of time to reflect, stay the course, and create new intentions.

Secret #2: 30-Day WOW Projects

My very first coach, Janice Hoffman, taught me the concept of creating 30-day WOW projects. This reset helps get the creative juices flowing with new and refreshing perspectives.

At the end of each month, I like to revisit my 90-day vision to make sure I’m putting my time where my dream is. I’m always amazed at the insights I gain from taking inventory of how, with whom, and what I’m spending time on!

Secret #3: Weekly Reflection Reset

REFLECTION RESET

The “Closing Ritual” and “Brain Detox” sections are the perfect balance of yin and yang. Creating space to reflect and plan makes it easy for me to enter the week with a baked plan in place.

Secret #4: Morning Manifest Meditation Reset

BE. DO. RECEIVE.

My mantra is “be, do, receive.” My morning ritual is to massage my face with my favorite toning mist and serum and sit with my steaming morning coffee.
- BE: meditate on my “radiance intentions” (learn more: Radical Radiance, page 185)
- DO: plan out the day and have check mark parties all day long!
- RECEIVE: sit in gratitude and take in the gifts from people, experiences, and things

Secret #5: Daily Check Reset

A planner only works if you work it!

If I feel behind or not centered, it’s usually because I left my planner closed and did not write things down or check them off. It’s really that simple. Consider the ritual of writing things down and checking things off your continual daily reset.

Remember: Self-care is an action for which your future self will thank you. So when you check something off your list, celebrate this action of self-care! 🥂
